Frank has spent the majority of his career in operations and business development, both in the corporate and entrepreneurial world. Most recently, Frank functioned as Business Development Manager for JAMEX, Inc. Prior to that, Frank co-founded and served as President of Beacon Resources, LLC, a well-testing business that was sold to TETRA Technologies in 2006. Frank spent 13 years at Matador Petroleum Corp and served in a number of capacities, including Vice President, Operations, and Vice President, Business Development. Frank’s early years were spent as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Burke & Associates and with Dowell in West Texas. Frank has a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Wyoming and has completed leadership seminars at Stanford University, Harvard University and the University of Virginia.
Daniel has spent virtually his entire career in the energy finance sector, having previously worked for Natural Gas Partners in energy private equity and for RBC Capital Markets in energy investment banking. Daniel also has experience working in South Africa for Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa, a venture capital firm, and in Argentina for OPER-PRO, an oil & gas consultancy. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University.
Kurt has extensive geological experience in new and emerging plays through his time at International Energy Corp, Newfield Exploration, Broken Rock Energy Partners and Samson Resources. Kurt’s primary areas of focus have been the Mid-Continent, East Texas, South Texas and the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Kurt was also a member of the Tight Unconventional Resources Group at Samson, where he focused on developing new, unconventional resource bases for the company. Kurt holds Bachelor of Science in Geology and German from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Geology from Louisiana State University.
Brent has strong, hands-on and managerial experience in land matters. Brent was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Broken Rock Energy Partners, and has served in a number of land related roles including, Region Land Manager and Senior Land Manager for Samson Resources, Corporate Landman for Pioneer Natural Resources and Area Landman for Phillips Petroleum Corp. Brent has worked numerous basins onshore USA. Brent holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Petroleum Land Management from Texas Tech University.
Ryan has significant experience across all engineering disciplines, including reservoir, production and operations. Ryan most recently served as Senior Production and Operations Engineer for International Energy Corp. Before that, Ryan worked for Petrohawk Energy Corp, Samson Resources and ChevronTexaco. Ryan has spent the majority of his career focusing on the Mid-Continent and East Texas. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa.
Bill has over 34 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Prior to joining Brigadier, Bill worked for Newfield Exploration in their Mid-Continent division where he was responsible for all workovers and recompletions in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. Bill also handled land-related issues for acquisition and divestures. Bill has significant experience in South Texas, where he helped spearhead Samson Resources’ entry into the region as a Senior District Landman. During his time in South Texas, Bill helped complete over 40 new wells and recompletions and he was responsible for all land related prospecting duties such as managing lease brokers running record checks, run sheets and curing title defects. Bill was also responsible for lease negotiation and testifying before the Texas Railroad Commission. Bill has a number of other experiences including owning and running his own contract petroleum land service company, managing office and parking buildings as well as holding various landman positions at Hawkins Oil & Gas. Bill is a United States Army Veteran, having served in Germany and Vietnam, where he earned an Air Medal for Heroism. Bill was honorably discharged.
Sarah comes to Brigadier after over 7 years of time with Samson Resources. Most recently, Sarah was a District Geologist, responsible for prospect generation and evaluation along with development plan creation and implementation. Sarah has significant experience integrating petrophysical and geochemical data as well as log and mud log correlations into prospect evaluation. She has worked closely with engineers to determine single well and full field economics. Sarah has also created and implemented numerous development plans for large leasehold positions, and has planned, prepared and steered numerous horizontal wells. Sarah has worked multiple regions, including East Texas and North Louisiana and areas of the Mid-Continent. Sarah also has experience as a teacher, having taught 9th grade science. Sarah has a Bachelor of Science in Geology, with Honors from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of California, Davis.
Nina has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining Brigadier, Nina spent 14 years with EnCana Oil & Gas as a Drilling Technologist where she created reports and management decision making tools. Nina also gained over 12 years of accounting experience while at Enserch Exploration and Matador Petroleum Co. At those companies she held a variety of roles and gained increased levels of responsibility. Nina has significant Accounts Payable and Joint Interest Billing experience, as well as experience managing accounting staff. Additionally, Nina was able to leverage her accounting experience while at EnCana, as she also operated as a liaison between the Operations and Accounting departments. Nina has performed technical work in multiple regions, including North Texas, East Texas and West Texas.
Jane has over 25 years of experience providing support to geoscientists in the energy sector. Prior to joining Brigadier, Jane was Geological Technical Specialist for Samson Resources where she worked in the New Ventures Division. As a part of the New Ventures Division, Jane was responsible for detailed mapping and basinal research in exploratory efforts across North America. Jane is well versed at utilizing tools such as Petra and ArcGIS and excels at using Microsoft Office products for analytical and presentation purposes. Prior to Samson, Jane held a number of research and management positions at Amoco. Jane earned her Bachelor of Science in Environment Science from St. Mary’s University.
